peterbuntingheadMontego Bay, September 25, 2011: The People’s National Party (PNP) at today’s meeting of its National Executive Council (NEC), meeting at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, has called on Prime Minister Bruce Golding to call the general election to resolve the crisis of governance in the country. The NEC passed the following resolution.

Whereas the country has been informed by the media that the Prime Minister is stepping down.

And whereas, this reflects negatively on the stability of the country given the circumstances that have compelled this decision.

And whereas this decision by Mr. Golding will not restore the country’s stability nor salvage the reputation of the JLP with respect to the poor quality of governance.

Be it resolved, that this NEC calls upon the government to immediately resign and call the general elections so as to resolve the crisis of governance in Jamaica.”
